High school students have a lot on their plates already. Between studying, doing chores and working a part-time job, all while trying to get enough sleep — it’s easy to miss out on the many scholarship opportunities available.

However, some programs exist specifically for high school students who want to get a good education in college after graduation. Here are some of the best company-sponsored scholarships you can find today.

1. Women at Microsoft Scholarship

The Women at Microsoft Scholarship is a $5,000 reward available to high school senior women and non-binary people attending college and pursuing a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).

Candidates must have at least a 3.0 GPA or higher and be high school seniors who identify as women. In addition, applicants must include a 500-word essay about how they will remain engaged in the STEAM sector and their passion for technology.

The scholarship application cycle starts in the fall of 2023.

2. The Posse Foundation Scholarship

The Posse Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide opportunities for students from low-income backgrounds.

The foundation provides scholarships for seniors accepted into four-year colleges — or enrolled in two-year community colleges.

The Posse Foundation Scholarship awards students on a need-based basis and ranges from $5,000 to $12,500 per year. Depending on the program, you must submit a nomination form on time. It typically accepts applications in the spring and summer.

3. Wells Fargo Scholarship for People With Disabilities

If you’re an aspiring student with a disability, the Wells Fargo Scholarship for People with Disabilities is something to consider. Students who are interested in this scholarship should know it awards students up to $2,500.

It’s open to high school seniors, undergraduate students, graduate students and professionals. The enrollment for applicants starts in January 2023 and will only accept the first 700 applications.

4. Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation offers scholarships to high school students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. To be considered for the scholarship, you must be 16 years or older at the time of application. You must also plan to enroll as a full-time student in an accredited college or university after graduation.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation has awarded over 6,600 college scholarships — and it’s still going strong. Winners of this scholarship program will receive $20,000.

5. McDonald’s HACER National Scholarship

McDonald’s has a scholarship program for Hispanic high school students. The McDonald’s HACER National Scholarship Program awards up to half a million dollars to 30 Hispanic students who demonstrate leadership and involvement in school, community activities and academic achievement.

The application process is quite simple. There’s no essay requirement — you only need to submit documents such as transcripts, a personal statement, a list of community service projects and more.

The deadline for applying has yet to be determined. However, it selects winners by June, and you will get a notification by March if you are a semi-finalist.
